| On a daily basis, refugees and immigrants are quietly making progress throughout the Chicago region. Behind each statistic is a human face: a Rwandan child who excels in school, a Somali father of four who is promoted on the job, or an Assyrian grandmother who proudly becomes a citizen.
For those facing special challenges, IRIM is there to lend a hand:
- Showing a Sudanese refugee how to cook on her new stove.
- Providing outreach services to a lonely, elderly Romanian woman in a distant suburb.
- Recruiting a volunteer tutor to help a 1st grade boy from Togo adjust to the Chicago Public Schools.
